Etsy Seller Fees by Country: The 2026 International Guide

September 3, 2026 · Etsy-Calc.com

Etsy fees vary by country - know your local rates

Most fee guides quote US rates: 6.5% transaction, 3% + $0.25 processing, $0.20 listing. But Etsy charges different rates in different countries, and adds a currency conversion fee for cross-border sales. If you sell from the UK, Canada, Europe, Australia or elsewhere, here's what to know.

The core fees by region (2026 snapshot)

CountryTransaction feePayment processingListing fee
United States6.5%3% + $0.25$0.20
United Kingdom6.5%4% + £0.20£0.16
Canada6.5%3% + $0.30$0.20
Australia6.5%2.9% + A$0.30A$0.20
European Union6.5%4% + €0.30€0.20

Note: rates change over time - always confirm the current fees in Etsy's Seller Handbook for your country.

The currency conversion fee (2.5%)

When a buyer pays in a different currency than your shop, Etsy converts the money and keeps 2.5%. This hits international sellers hard:

For shops with lots of foreign sales, this quietly adds up. If 30% of your orders are international, budget an extra 0.75% of total revenue to conversion fees.

VAT and taxes - separate from Etsy fees

Etsy's fees are separate from the taxes you owe:

Don't confuse Etsy's fee percentages with your tax obligations - they're two different costs.

Why processing rates differ

Payment processing rates reflect local card network fees and banking costs. That's why the UK pays 4% + £0.20 while the US pays 3% + $0.25. These are set by the payment providers Etsy uses in each region, not chosen by Etsy arbitrarily.

How to budget fees as an international seller

Frequently asked questions

Are Etsy fees higher in Europe?

Processing fees are often higher (4% + €0.30) because of local card network costs, but the 6.5% transaction fee is the same worldwide.

Do I pay the 2.5% conversion fee on every sale?

Only when the buyer pays in a different currency than your shop's currency. Local-currency sales have no conversion fee.

Where can I see my exact fees?

Your Etsy account has a fee breakdown per order, and Etsy's Seller Handbook lists current rates by country.

Whether you're in the US, UK, Canada, EU or Australia, the 6.5% transaction fee is universal - but processing and conversion rates differ. Know your local numbers and price accordingly.
